OMV THERMOFORMERS ARE DESIGNED TO TRIM THE PARTS IN THE FORM TOOL WHICH ENSURE 100% TRIM REGISTRATION FROM CYCLE TO CYCLE.

PUNCH & DIE TRIMMING COMPONENTS

  • The diagram below illustrate the various tooling components that are critical to the trimming of the part.
  • The DIE PLATE, which is mounted to the upper moving form platen.
  • The PUNCHES, which are mounted around each mold cavity on the lower revolving molds.
  • During the forming cycle, depending on the OMV thermoformer model, either the Die plate is moved up and down with the upper mold platen or the lower tool half with the cavities and punches is moved up and down.

FLANGE WIDTH & PART TRIM CONCENTRICITY (TRIM REGISTRATION) IS CRITICAL FOR DOWNSTREAM SEALING AND OTHER OPERATIONS.
